In a recent years we noticed an increase number of wedding photography enquiries from couples who are getting married at the Victorian Marriage Registry, Melbourne. We couldn’t help but wonder why there’s more and more couples are deciding to have their ceremony at the Old Treasury Building and have their reception else where, whether just a small dinner with their family & close friends or at a wedding venue around Melbourne. Maybe people are loving the no-fuss keep it simple kinda ceremony approach or most of their families are living oversea. Either way, we love this type of weddings as they are relaxed, fun and often stress free.
Kelvin & Junlee is one of the couples that we have had the honour to witness and chosen to be their wedding photographer at the Victorian Marriage Registry with the presence from both of their parents & siblings who came from oversea to be with them on a beautiful Autumn day. Their ceremony took place inside the Margaret Craig Room of the Old Treasury Building.
After the ceremony, we had our family photos and bridal photos at the Carlton Gardens, Treasury Gardens and around the CBD before they headed to a restaurant to have dinner together. The whole time, their family was with them and sometimes would be coming in between the intimate shots, something we find very interesting and fun at the same time, considering most Asian families can be very conservative when their kids kissing in front of them 🙂
