Amy & Matt’s ideal wedding was just a simple “I do” at the Old Treasury Building with the family and some of their closest friends. It was a quick ceremony inside the Margaret Room and probably the most hilarious wedding registry I’ve attended. Truth be told, our groom, Matt walked out the aisle by himself right after the Celebrant announcing Melbourne’s latest newlyweds, while Amy still confused of the whole situation, put everyone else laughing in tears. Of course he soon realised that and came back for Amy. Luckily, nobody got hurt that day.
After some family photos outside the building and the Treasury Gardens, we separated the crowd for some more intimate bridal shots around Fitzroy Gardens from across the street.
It was a beautiful 20-something degree day with plenty of sunshine, we made the most of it of course and wrapped up our shoot soon after to go back to the Melbourne Bowls Club Flagstaff Gardens where the reception being held and getting ready for the second part of their wedding celebration. It’s bowling time!!!
It’s not the first time I’ve done a bare foot bowling wedding but I just love how relaxed and fun Amy & Matt’s party was. There was no formality, except for a few short speeches from the parents, which by the way, their dads absolutely nailed it. Love it when the dads step up and tell all about their kids on their wedding day.
The rest of the night saw plenty of catching up and good times. Just how Amy & Matt wanted for their wedding day.
Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer guys. It was truly an honour and I loved every minute with you guys. Couldn’t asked for a better couple and a better day.
